Ebrington Manor has been owned by the same family since 1476. Set in an AONB within the Cotswold’s, it is a truly beautiful home from home, steeped in history.
The grounds are exceptionally private and unspoilt, with sweeping Cotswold views in every direction. The village is close by, with an award winning pub, butcher, cafe and farm shop within walking distance. The likes of Chipping Campden, Broadway, Stow on the Wold, Chipping Norton, Daylesford Organic, Diddly Squat Farmshop and Soho Farmhouse are all just up the road.
The house itself faces almost due west and the large windows are flooded with light in the afternoons and evening – the sunsets from the garden can be spectacular! Inside, all the original features are retained, including beautiful 17th century wood paneling, decorative plasterwork and original wooden beams. The bathrooms, hot water, central heating system and wifi are however thoroughly modern!
There are eight bedrooms, six of which boast super king beds, along with two fixed twins, all with crisp White Company linen. The bedrooms are all en-suite and have large, modern walk in showers.
Outdoors there are is a beautiful spring fed lake which is perfect for wild swimming. Guests can also take out the boat, cruise out on a paddle board or try their luck with the fishing rods. There is a large African style boma on the banks which is perfect spot to hang out and BBQ. From summer 2022, the boathouse on the bank of the lake will contain a kitchen and shower to make al fresco dining all the more easy.
For the energetic, there are 20 acres of park land to explore, with swings under the walnut trees for children and open spaces of grass, perfect for football and picnics. The park is fringed by apple trees – the estate is still a working fruit farm – producing some of the most ancient English varieties.
The gardens are truly beautiful, tended to by the family for generations and contains all sorts of interesting and ancient plants. The rose garden however is the highlight, a beautiful walled garden, with numerous varieties of roses, all shapes, sizes and colours. It is overlooked by a beautiful open sided summerhouse which has power, lighting and broadband. This is a beautiful spot which can be used for many things – relax and read a book, a quiet work spot, yoga or al fresco dining.
Ebrington Manor is still very much a family home and is only rented from time to time. It is a very special place and a true home from home, perfect for family get together’ s or celebrations.
